The Akuzma is a Texas band referred to me by Gene Olivarri of Dirigiri. Their song “From Where You Stand” is crunching modern thrash metal with an industrial edge, electronic sounds and atmospheric keyboards giving the material an inventive edge. The three tracks gracing this single includes a remix of the previously mentioned song and a song titled “Apotheosis.” The remixed “From Where You Stand features some elements similar to early 80s new wave that seem to work well within the rearranged progressions. The final track is decidedly darker calling Sisters Of Mercy and Marilyn Manson to mind while incorporating some more guitar crunch and industrial effects, There are many fresh ideas here that made me want to hear more from this band.
