This band features drummer Charlie Infection, who you may be familiar with from the black metal/noise band Gonkulator and GG Allin’s backup band Bulge on Freaks, Faggots, Drunks & Junkies. Infection is also the driving force behind Infection Distro and Fudegworthy Records. If you like hardcore punk fast, furious, blistering and purely old school, Chainsaw Priest is your kind of album. Seventeen tracks of the grimiest, most unapologetic songs you’ll ever hear emerging from the bowels of Massachusetts, These songs took me back to when I first discovered hardcore for the cutting edge, high energy music it was. There is enough freshness within them to match the unadulterated assault they launch upon your senses; “Mystery Meat,” “Hep-C,” “So This Is Hell” and “Vodka Influenced Nightmares” are just a few coming to mind as I write. The lead vocals are a bit more reminiscent of UK grindcore from the late 80s and early 90s which is a nice touch. Infection pushes the songs onward on the drums with an almost pathological determination. You can preview the CD and ask Infection about acquiring a copy at the addresses provided.
